So, right now, the Bush administration is trying to "define several widely used contraception methods as abortion". That includes birth control pills and IUD (intrauterine devices.
)
This would change coverage for many women. Because, yeah, that makes sense--let's cut back on birth control, that should bring the abortion rates down. How many women do you know who use the pill as birth control? Come on! Almost every female I know is on a birth control pill of one form or another, and many of them use it for reasons other than being sexually active. Taking that away sounds like a really good idea.
WHAT.
http://www. reuters. com/article/politicsNews/idUSN1843863720080718There's an article on the topic.
http://www. hillpac. com/action/hhspetition/?sc=2494And there's a link to the petition that Hillary Clinton is spearheading in order to stop this from happening.
Ladies... do you like your birth control just the way it is? Do you like the freedom of choosing between various methods?
And Gentlemen...isn't it nice NOT TO GET PEOPLE PREGNANT?
If you want the administration to go ahead and stay the heck out of your sex life, go sign that petition. If you care about women's rights, go sign that petition. If you are BORED, go sign that petition. If you don't want to be no kind of baby daddy, GO SIGN THAT PETITION.
You know I don't usually get into political stuff like this, but anyone who uses birth control should get involved in this. If you use birth control, or know anyone who does, this affects you. Come on.
